It was a time-pressured renovation due to growing family and we were able to complete on time mainly because of good estimating and good communication by Josh (and hard work by the team!). As with all renovations of older properties, you will stumble upon the odd challenge, but Josh presented clear options with pros and cons. One important call out was around how well Josh’s go-to contractors worked together (Elec, Plumbing, Tiling, etc) – especially evident over the short timeframe. Highly recommended.

They did a fantastic job..always did what they said they would do, turned up on time, valued our budget and explained clearly to me what any changes would cost etc in labour or materials so no unexpected surprises. His team are physically fit so they can work fast which helps. “First of all, sorry to Josh for my late review, the problem is that my house is now so fabulous, I’m so busy entertaining as people keep calling in All. The. Time. (Even random strangers passing by on the street).
Anyway, Lifestyle Homes and Renos are true professionals, the whole process of building in under, deck(s), carport and big reno of existing house went as smoothly as possible. Job was started on time and finished on time and I don’t think there was a single day in 3 months without a minimum of 2 tradies on site. Josh’s guys Vince and Matt are skilled, patient, funny and super nice and the electricans, plumbers, floor sanders, painters and tilers that Josh uses are all good too. Lifestyle originally lifted and shifted our house a couple of years ago and I’m so pleased we used them to finish the job. Another good thing is that Josh is local to 4017 and does most of his work in the area so he is never far away and also he doesn’t seem to take on too many jobs at once – you may have to wait a bit for him to start but once he’s started your job will be his focus”

Lifestyle Home and Renovations first did some work for Jenny and myself about ten years ago. We had an old Queenslander at Bald Hills that needed some work – bathroom, powder room and office. We were more than happy with the result and the friendly service from Josh and his crew.

So when we recently purchased our ‘sea change’ home at Shorncliffe, another old Queenslander which needed a bit of sprucing up, we thought of Josh. We contacted Josh and after a quick chat, went with LHR to do our renovations again.

Josh listened to what we wanted to do and offered suggestions and solutions where required. His carpenter Dean and apprentice Blake were excellent tradesmen, as were the electricians, tiler and plumber. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole project went very smoothly. Josh was on site every day and also spoke to us quite frequently to update us on the progress.

Jenny and I moved into our “new home” a few weeks ago and we love it!!

This was following ANOTHER builder’s lift and build-under which massively blew out budget and timelines due to poor workmanship and unprofessional conduct. The classic nightmare build.

Our experience with Josh was so different, exceeding our expectations by delivering the best professional service within budget and on time. From the outset Josh communicated confidently, clearly and promptly, providing great advice so that his considerable building knowledge vastly improved our original plans. He was very flexible and patient with our evolving requests and also fair in pricing any variations. Nothing was too much trouble and Josh even kindly guided us in arranging the kitchen fitting which wasn’t part of this job. These guys are genuinely committed to delivering a great job and were a pleasure to have in our home, particularly important as we were living downstairs and still suffering from Post Build Trauma. “We were fortunate enough to have Josh Lauder from Lifestyle Homes and Renovations recommended to us when we were looking for a builder to close in our deck and incorporate the living space into an extension to our house. My husband, a tradesman himself in his early days, is very fussy when it comes to workmanship and has always completed work around the house himself for this ver reason. However, with retirement upon us, we decided to sit back and enjoy the new extension with our children and grandchildren and employ a professional to improve our beautiful home.
From the first time Josh promptly came to give us a quote (where he offered some really good suggestions to improve our plans) to the completion of the work, we found Josh and his workmen to be totally professional, a pleasure to have on site which was always left clean and tidy at the end of each day. “After reviewing numerous quotes from a range of builders, my wife and I finally decided that Lifestyle Homes and Renovations Qld (LHR) would be chosen to build in under our Queenslander. We had previously had a bad experience with a certain local builder and were very keen to avoid a similar occurrence. Well, it didn’t take long into the job for us to realise we had made a good decision in choosing LHR.
It was obvious from the outset that Josh and his team were a very professional outfit and took pride in their work. We were very impressed with quality and speed of which things were completed. Josh was there every morning, ready to go and was driven to completion. There was none of the usual one week of work followed by one week of complete absence that you would find with other builders. LHR were there from start to finish.
I found Josh’s willingness to satisfy his customer very refreshing. If there was something needed attention he was keen to get it fixed with no hassle suggesting he stands by his work. Being responsive to your clients goes a long way and Josh does this admirably. Josh nearly always answers your phone calls or calls back promptly, which is a rare thing for a busy builder.
